You Have Been Carrying This in Your Body

Trauma-informed therapy for women navigating the long shadow of sexual trauma — with an approach that works with your nervous system, not against it.

  • Something happened — once, or over time — that you may have never fully named or received support for.
  • You've tried to move on. There are days you think you have. And then something brings it back.
  • Your body responds in ways that feel confusing — disconnection, reactivity, numbness, hypervigilance.
  • You carry shame that belongs somewhere else entirely.
  • You may have been dismissed, not believed, or told it wasn't that bad.
  • Intimacy, trust, or your own sense of safety in your body has been affected.
What happened to you is not about your worth. And you are not required to be over it on anyone else's timeline.

Why EMDR for Sexual Trauma

EMDR has one of the strongest evidence bases of any therapy specifically for sexual trauma and PTSD. It does not require you to retell your story in extensive detail — it works with the nervous system to process the memories that are still activating your body in the present.

The approach here is grounded in empowerment and consent at every level. You set the pace. Nothing happens that you do not choose. The goal is not to relive what happened — it is to help your nervous system understand that you are safe now.
