Hi, I'm Amanda
I'm glad you're here.
Healing happens in relationship — not just technique. While my work is shaped by advanced clinical training as an EMDRIA Certified Therapist and Consultant-in-Training, it is guided by connection, compassion, and authenticity.
I bring both professional expertise and lived experience — including chronic illness, loss, and trauma — with an emphasis on safety, collaboration, and realness.
My practice is LGBTQIA+ affirming, and I welcome clients across race, ethnicity, immigration background, faith, body, and ability. Disability and chronic illness are part of my own lived experience, not an abstraction — that shapes how I show up for clients navigating them too.
Outside of sessions, I'm often on my mini-farm with rescue animals and small moments of joy — coffee, music, laughter, and the occasional goat in a party hat.
Whether you're healing, growing, or stepping into your next chapter — you're welcome here, just as you are.

Dr. Lea Velez, LMSW
We are pleased to include Dr. Lea Velez in our practice. As an independent clinician who mirrors our dedication to depth and relational healing, Dr. Velez provides a highly intentional therapeutic space. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Velez serves as a professor of Social Work Practice at Texas State University.
She specializes in supporting high-capacity women through the lenses of aging, resilience, and exercise-supported mental health. To ensure the most attentive and specialized care, Dr. Velez maintains a very limited caseload, allowing for a deeply focused relationship tailored to your unique nervous system and timeline.
Dr. Velez brings a distinctive breadth of lived and professional experience to her clinical work, including direct experience with law enforcement and first responder communities, leadership development, education, and the realities of economic disparity. She also draws on a deep personal background in athletic psychology as a runner who has completed more than 20 marathons — an experience that informs how she works with clients on discipline, perseverance, identity, and the mental dimensions of physical endurance.
